Sue Rusche
Sue led National Families in Action (NFIA), which helped lead the national
parent movement. With Wake Forest’s School of Medicine, NFIA co-
founded the Addiction Studies Program for journalists and for the states
that ran from 1999 to 2014. In 2014, NFIA created The Marijuana
Report.Org, a website that tracks the marijuana story unfolding across the
nation and a weekly e-newsletter of the same name. In 2018, NFIA’s
Science Advisory Board of world-renowned scientists recorded 25 podcasts
for the public about marijuana. Now retired, she is writing Why We May Be
Sorry We Legalized Pot: A History of Legal Drugs in America. She is on the
Leadership Council for the Foundation for Drug Policy Solutions.
